Hamilton beats Niagara Falls 7- 4 in the season opener
The Major Mosquito Cardinals jumped out to an early lead over Niagara Falls Falcons and took home a 7-4 victory on Thursday.

- Quinten L started things off in the top of the 1st, followed by a single by Jack S in the first inning, Carter D added a single in the in the second inning to put early pressure on the host Falcons.
- Alex M picked up the win with 3 solid innings of work; Ethan G worked the middle innings and Will R picked up the save.
- Niagara Falls Falcons managed three runs in the third inning and another in the 5th but couldn't come all the way back against one of the top pitching staffs in the COBA league.
- Jack S went 1-for-3 at the plate as he led the team with three runs batted in. The young Cardinals were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error; the speedy Cardinals stole nine bases during the game and three players stole more than one base.
- The Cardinals hit the road again on Monday vs the Mississauga Southwest Twins, game time is 6pm at Tom Cater Park in Mississauga.
