Cardinals Win over Brampton but Mother Nature Intervenes vs Oakville
Big game vs Oakville cut short by Mother Nature, but it was clear skies vs Brampton Royals

After only 2 1/2 innings of play against the defending AAA OBA Champion Oakville A's, Mother Nature intervened on Tuesday night and the game was called due to lightning. The Cardinals were up 2-1 going into the bottom of the 3rd when thunder and lightning ended what was shaping up as a great match-up between two of the top teams in COBA this season. The two teams will get their chance to battle again next Wednesday when the Cards host the A's at home.

The following night under clear skies the Cardinals travelled to Brampton to take on the Royals.  The Royals played the Cards tough, as expected. The game was tied at three in the top of the third when Will R hit a sacrifice fly to drive in the go ahead run. The Cardinals took the lead for good and never looked back to capture the 9-5 win. A solid start on the mound from Alex M followed up by quality relief efforts by Kayden C & Matthew H fuelled the Cards victory. Offensively, Jack S & Matthew H both went 3 for 3 at the plate and Paul M had a 2 for 2 showing.

The Cardinals are scheduled to take on the Oakville A's Team 2 on Sunday June 4th at 6pm.

The Cardinals are now 5-1 on the season and currently sit in first place.
