Baseball Begins!
The Minor Peewee Cardinals start fast against the powerhouse Oakville A's and lead from start to finish under the lights at West Oak Trails Park in Oakville Wednesday night.
Alex Miller got the start for the visitors and struck out two and only allowed one run on one hit over two innings of work. Carter Dorrington came on in relief in the 3rd and 4th innings, throwing 23 pitches, of which 13 were strikes. Ryan Webb made his 2018 season debut, facing 6 batters while striking out one. Solid pitching from these three players helped propel the Cardinals to victory.
On offence the Cardinals tallied 11 hits with Jack Smith and Quinten Lisle leading the way. Defensively, the Cards were solid and didn't commit a single error all night. The game was a great start and the boys will continue to work hard to prepare for their first tournament of the season in Mississauga next weekend.
