Submitted By Hamilton Cardinals on Wednesday, June 30, 2021
The Hamilton Cardinals and its members are pleased to learn that the City of Hamilton will be moving to Stage 2 effective June 30th, 2021.  The City of Hamilton user Guidelines have been updated in accordance with the Reopening Ontario Act, 2020 O. Reg. 263/20  for STEP 2, effective June 30, 2021.

These guidelines have been approved by the Emergency Operations Centre in conjunction with City of Hamilton Public Health. Please read the document carefully and make note of the requirements and the role that your organization must play in accessing our amenities. I would like to highlight the following items in the document that pertain to our sport users:

  • Gathering limit outdoors is 25, with exceptions for sector-specific organized activities (identified in document) which allows for more
  • Permit holders of organized activities will be required to have a Safety Plan in place, which documents how all public health measures will be followed including for crowd control and spectators
  • Spectators are permitted at a reduced 25% capacity. Spectator areas should be distanced from the field of play or player’s areas. Distancing required on bleachers with no more than 25% capacity.
  • Sports gameplay modified to avoid contact.
  • Indoor sports, dance, exercise or other physical activity programs (even as part of a day camp program) are not permitted indoors until Step 3.

It is the responsibility of your organization to comply with the Reopening Act, your sport governing body and the requirements of the City of Hamilton EOC / Public Health.
