It's with a very heavy heart to hear of the sudden passing of Larry Wood on Sunday September 15th, 2024.
On Sunday morning, we learned of the sudden and unexpected passing of our beloved founder, Larry Wood. Larry was instrumental in the development of Rep Baseball in the City of Hamilton.
In 2008, Larry, along with others formed the Hamilton Cardinals Rep Baseball Association with the vision to provide players, who wished to play at that next level, a place to do so, at a reasonable cost. Larry has been by the Associations side since it's onset and will remain in our thoughts and memories forever.
In 2023, Larry was honoured with a Lifetime Honorary Membership with the Hamilton Cardinals Rep Baseball Association as our appreciation for all his hard work and love for the game.
This year, 2 of Larry's 5 grandkids, tried out for Hamilton Cardinals Teams. On Thursday, Larry got the news that both of them would be putting on the Hamilton Cardinals uniforms for the 2025 season. He was so happy for them both.
Larry, we will never forget the time, mentoring and dedication you put into baseball in Hamilton, and we are forever thankful for that.
To Larry's family, we send you our deepest condolences, you are in all our thoughts during this difficult time.
Larry, may you rest in peace. You've earned it my friend,
Your Cardinals family
