2021 Tryout Info & Dates -updated Sept 11, News (Hamilton Cardinals Rep Baseball)

*PLAYERS MUST BE REGISTERED ON-LINE BEFORE THEY TAKE THE DIAMOND AT THEIR FIRST SCHEDULED TRY-OUT*

**Parents/Players are encouraged to check back for updates regularily, as tryout dates and times may change.  All changes will be highlighted in yellow. **

Due to the current situation and in order to minimize the number of players and spectators at Try-Outs this year, the Hamilton Cardinals have introduced the following temporary amendments to their Tryout Policy:

1. All players MUST register on-line; walk-ups and receipt of cash or cheque is not permitted.  On-line registration only.
2. Head Coaches may sign a maximum of 5 players before tryouts, this should include their own child (if applicable).  The players that are pre-signed shall not attend the tryouts to participate or spectate. Pre-signed players are still required to register on-line and pay the try-out fee, in order to be assigned a Tryout Identification Number (TIN).
3. Only 1 parent spectator per child at each try-out.
4. In hopes to expedite the try-out process, Tier 1 head coaches are encouraged to select their roster after the 2nd try-out.  A 3rd tryout may be scheduled if necessary. Tier 1 head coaches must choose their roster by the end of the 3rd tryout.
5. In age groups where a Tier 2 coach has been named, Tier 1 and Tier 2 head coaches are encouraged to work jointly together throughout the try-out process.  
6. If a Tier 1 head coach, chooses to run a 3rd try-out, the Tier 2 head coach will participate in that tryout, if they haven’t already done so.
7. The 4th try-out of an age group where a Tier 2 Head Coach has been named will be strictly for the Tier 2 selection.
8. Players may be split into groups if tryout numbers exceed maximum numbers allowed.
9. Tryout fee will be $20.

   11. All players trying-out who were not on a Hamilton Cardinals roster this season must complete the Covid & Rowens law waivers from Baseball Ontario, see link below

    12. As per the Try-out Policy, Tier 1 Head Coaches have first selection rights, however a player may make a request to the Tier 1 Head Coach to be released directly to Tier 2 try-outs if they wish.
