Major Mosquito T2 win 2nd tourney of season!

The Major Mosquito T2 won the Mississauga North Tier 2 tournament this past weekend, going 5-1!
Our young 11U team 2 recorded their 2nd tournament win of the season defeating a very tough Markham Mariners “A” team in the Championship game yesterday afternoon.
The Cards started the tournament playing uncharacteristically sloppy baseball versus Markham on Friday night; where they were mercied in 5 innings. The Cards shook off the loss and all of the errors and arrived back to the diamond on Saturday morning ready to battle.
They defeated Mississauga North 10U AAA and the Orangeville Tigers on Saturday, finishing second in their pool. They advanced to the 1/4 finals Sunday morning and faced off with the Mississauga North Tigers 11U T2 defeating them 9-3.
The semi-finals had the team facing the Scarborough Stingers who finished first in their pool and were awarded a bye, allowing them extra rest and available pitchers. The Cards did not let that advantage sway their efforts and beat the Stingers easily 13-2.
This win advanced the team to finals to face off with the Markham Mariners once again. Markham also received a bye to the semis, so the Cardinals knew to win the whole thing they were going to have to take the long way; and they were up for the challenge.
Hamilton started off strong from first pitch and the Cards were on point the entire game. Their pitching effort was impressive, the defence unbeatable and their bats were alive and well.
The Cardinals only allowed 1 run and won the Championship 8-1!
This young tenacious team’s ability to grind and lift each-other up never ceases to amaze their Coaches and parents. Here’s hoping they can maintain this momentum as they head Chatham in a few weeks and OBAs in September.
Great job boys!
