
Help Wanted - Director of Finance

The Hamilton Cardinals Rep Baseball Association is currently looking for a Director of Finance for the 2019 season.
As the Director of Finance, this volunteer position reports directly to the President of the HCBA and executes their focus through the following areas of responsibility:
- ensure that the Hamilton Cardinals Constitution accurately reflects the required policies and procedures of basic accounting principles
- manage/direct all aspects of financial activities of the organization, including cash flow, budgeting/forecasting, timely reporting, financial analysis, etc.
- oversee accounting procedures of Teams ensuring transparency
- oversee and assist in compliance with all external financial reporting, if required
- assist the Board of Directors in understanding financial impact for good decision making
- evaluation and financial advice relating to financing for capital decision making, including analyzing financial statements and making recommendations to board of directors
- pay invoices and collect payments as necessary
- prepare income statements for and attend monthly Board of Directors meetings
- prepare a complete financial package for the Nov AGM
- be a signing officer with the President, for the accounts of the Board
- ensure that the Association is properly insured, following the directions of the Provincial body
Qualifications:
- CPA or equivalent training/experience is desired but not mandatory
- past experience in non-profit and/or financial management preferred but not mandatory
- good communication skills able to interact with all levels of management and staff
- ability to work collaboratively within team
