MAJOR MOSQUITO win Trevor Barton Memorial AAA Tournament in an epic 11 inning Final!

This past weekend the Major Mosquito team traveled to London to compete in the Annual tournament.  The team easily defeated the London Badgers and East York in pool play but came up short against a tough North York team to put them in second place in the pool and advance to the semi finals on Sunday.  Sunday morning they faced a tough Whitby team but came out with a big 13-7 win to advance to the championship game.

The team faced North Toronto in the championship and were trailing by 9 runs at the top of the 6th inning.  The boys dug deep and scored 10 runs that inning, from there it was a back and forth battle with North Toronto always coming up with an answer to how many runs the boys scored. After 4 intense extra innings the Cardinals scored 3 runs in the top of the 11th.  With two runs let in for Toronto, runners on second and third threatening to score the boys came up with an amazing strike out to end the game with a final score of 17-16.

The Coaches and parents could not have been more proud of the team and character and strength they showed to battle hard for the amazing comeback win. They are back to regular season action with a few weekends off before their next tournament.
