Minor Peewee team Finalists in Mississauga Southwest Tournament
The Minor Peewee team went 5-1 over the weekend, suffering their first loss of the season in the Championship game against the Mississauga North Tigers.

The boys played solid defence all weekend and their bats were alive and well. There were many highlights to the weekend.  Ethan G. had a walk-off triple to take the win against the Pickering Red Sox during pool play, 13-12. In the quarter-finals against their COBA rival, the Oakville A's, Quinten L. had a clutch 2 out double, that scored the games only runs, locking down the 2-0 win. In Semi-final action Carter D pitched 6 innings of shut-out baseball scattering 3 hits and 3 walks against the tough Whitby Chiefs. Key defensive plays from Dean D, Alex M, Ethan G, Ryan W and a highlight reel catch from Matthew H. in right field denied the Chiefs extra bases and helped the Cards take the semi-final win 11-0.

The Championship featured a battle of COBA heavyweights as the Cardinals faced off against the Mississauga North Tigers; on this day the Cardinals could not match the offensive power of the Tigers and fell 14-2 in a lopsided affair.  While not the finish they were hoping for, the Cardinals played solid baseball against high level opponents all weekend that should serve them well as their COBA regular season opens on Tuesday at home against the visiting Oakville A's (T2).
