Major Rookie Team 2 Captures COBA Championship

The Major Rookie Team 2 won the Central Ontario Baseball Association Tier 2 Championship over the weekend, going 4-0 in the tournament.

The team finished the regular season in 3rd place, behind the strong Waterdown Wolves & Oakville A’s 2  squads. The Cardinals faced the Burlington Bulls 2 and Halton Hills 2 in round robin play, and came away with 13-0 and 8-7 victories.

The Cards advanced to the Semi-finals on Sunday morning against the Oakville A’s; a team that the Cardinals had not defeated all season.  After falling behind 11-3 in the early innings, the Cardinals clawed their way back defeating the A’s 19-11 and advanced themselves to the Championship Final.

The Cardinals faced off with the Mississauga North Tigers in the Championship game Sunday afternoon, and won in convincing fashion 9-2.   The team will take this victory and continue to work hard as they prepare for OBAs.

Congratulations to the 2017 Major Rookie Tier 2 COBA Champions!
