2022 8U Coaching Introduction
Submitted By Hamilton Cardinals on Wednesday, September 8, 2021
The Hamilton Cardinals are pleased to introduce Andrew Schwalm as the new 8U Head Coach for the 2022 season.

Andrew has been involved in Hamilton baseball from a very young age whether playing or later on as a coach. His baseball career began playing Minor and Junior baseball for the East Mountain Cobras where they won the Provincial Championship in 2000. Following this Andrew was given the opportunity to pursue his baseball dreams as a pitcher at Northwood University (NCAA Division II) in Midland Michigan. His ties to the Hamilton Cardinals organization began after his Freshman year at university when he began playing for our Intercounty Baseball League Cardinals team. He continued playing there for 8 seasons at which time he realized he enjoyed the managing/coaching aspect of the game and took a position as coach of the Intercounty Cardinals team for two summers. With a desire to pass on his knowledge and experience Andrew sought out the opportunity to coach younger ballplayers and found a role as Head Coach of the 16U Canadian Thunderbirds where he helped prepare many of the players to go onto college baseball careers of their own. Andrew is strong believer in hard work, baseball fundamentals, playing the game the right way, and having fun doing it. He spent this past summer coaching Rookie Ball in Hamilton and is looking forward to preparing the 2022 Hamilton Cardinal U8 team for a summer they won’t forget.
