As we've all been eagerly awaiting, the government has announced the move to Step 2 this morning:

"Outdoor sports without contact or modified to avoid contact, with no specified limit on number of people or teams participating, with restrictions;Outdoor sport facilities with spectators permitted at 25 per cent capacity.

The facility must actively screen individuals who participate in team sports before they enter the facility;"What this means for Baseball Ontario:Scrimmages and games can resume on Wednesday. There are no restrictions on league size.Baseball Ontario's approved Return to Sport Protocols must be implemented and followed including:Active prescreening must be completed(https://covid-19.ontario.ca/self-assessment/).

Attendance tracking must be done for every event.

Records for tracking done outside of the Baseball Ontario ONDeck app must be kept for a minimum of 30 days.

Spectators:where a facility has an area designated for spectator seating, the total number of spectators cannot exceed 25 per cent of the usual seating capacity (for example, a stadium); and where there is no designated seating, spectators must be able to maintain a physical distance of 2 metres from every other spectator.

The City of Hamilton, in conjunction with Hamilton Public Health will be finalizing a Return to Sport protocol for release in the coming days.

Until such time, Hamilton based teams shall continue to operate under the Stage 1 restrictions.

Please check with your local public health unit to verify any restrictions or conditions they might have. This announcement means that for August Madness, we will follow Plan A in the document, with no rest period between rounds required. We will continue to monitor the Reopening plan for even more opportunities for competition in the 2021 season.
